The say for 21 years in order to rectify, and to take care that no present sales grants are of such tenure as eventually to firm troublesome in the event of necessity or wish for extension. The soundings being generally regular, the dangers above water may be approached within 31 yards, and with a depth of 3 fathoms, and the nature of the bottom beneath the mud is generally granite the Boy. Beneath the clay frequently crops out, it is of very consistent texture, free from foreign mixture, and apparently well adapted for brick's making and puddling.

Gentlemen,
It is the wish of the Government of Hong Kong to construct an esplanade or "Storyou" along the sea front of the Praya side in front of all buildings, but in order to carry out the intention it will be necessary to come to an understanding with three pontics who have become proprietors of Marine Lots.
The plan proposed could be as follows. A passage (of say ten feet in width) to be left along the edge of the quay, for the convenience of persons landing goods, this to be divided from the road by posts and chains, or some other suitable fence; then a width of thirty feet of roadway for the use of the public, with a corresponding fence;
