1 The dronment in question. At Socle it was stifmial time of Sale on behalf of Government that they were to expend on certain sum in the buildings, they, on the louder, in order to secure their investment to me, sluice ove churfully assented to, suver d mitting that we should be dealt with by the Government in fair and equitable principles.

On the fourth of this pledge by the representative of Government, and before the terms of the proposed leases became known to us, we had expended in Superintendents, travelling, and buildings, very considerable sums; but had we been previously aware of the proposed conditions now...
