In reply to your communication I have not the least hesitation in saying that there is not in my opinion the lightest ground for the charge that has been made relative to your conduct at the Governor's table on the 13 Instant, I sat lower down on the opposite side of the table to where you were, and have observed if any such circumstance as that charged against you had taken place.
