to forget, and, as long as they remember, are sure never to forgive the services rendered to the Town and the public by that exposure of unblushing fiend and inclement pretension which it was my duty to bring before the Government, in conjunction with my Colleagues, (Captain Cowper, R.N., and Mr Power) of the Royal Commission of Inquiry.

I here close this painful correspondence; awaiting the decision of His Excellency and the Right Honourable Secretary of State to whom I presume the whole of it, without exception whether of Official, autograph, or private letters will be referred.
