Larger than its means would justify - a reason which though of great weight when that despatch was written, no longer applies in the present prosperous state of the Colony - a prosperity plain, decisive, or founded not likely to be shaken, but rather a considerable promising augmentation of pecuniary resources.

I was thrice absent from the Colony during the first year of my government, but in the last year have not been absent for an hour, so that my presence in the Colony has not been less than that of my Predecessors while my duties as Governor have been commonly increased.
