With reference to your letter
No. 63, and its enclosure, relative to the Venereal Disease, I have the honor to state, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, that during my experience I have never before witnessed, since I have served, such ravages inflicted by the Disease on those affected with it,
now in this Colony. I beg to state that almost every seaman admitted into the Seamen's Hospital with Fever, or other affection, &c. is also affected with the venereal.
