Minute of the undersigned perusal of a Draft Ordinance for "the better repression of venereal diseases.
When the proposed Ordinance is first brought forward, a feeling of repugnance to any Legislative interference in such a matter arises in my mind, and usually probably will be the first impulse in the minds of most persons.
After having reflected on the information I have received from medical men and others as to the general prevalence of the venereal disease, in its extreme virulence, amongst the prostitutes residing in this colony, and on its lamentable consequences, which...
