other person, therein in writing of any send signed by such other person, it shall be lawful for the said public officer to visit, and at all reasonable times gain access to the person is affected, and, if needful, to cause the removal of such person to a hospital, or other suitable place, for prevention of longer injury by contagion, and for the accomplishment of a speedy and effectual cure.
2. Some of the expenses attending the removal and cure of such person have been defrayed by the government shall be recovered from such person by Summary proceedings before any Justice of the Peace, the debt due to the Crown being in default of payment of such debt and costs, the said Justice, or any other Justice of the Peace, though volunta- rily the defaulter to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour, within the work- house or the prison, for a period not exceeding six weeks, until the sum due shall be paid.
3. If any person, master, mistress, or overseer aforesaid, fail to make such report to the public medical officer, or in any way obstruct or impede such officer in the duty of visiting, inspection, and removal, as aforesaid, he shall be liable to a penalty of not exceeding ... recoverable in a Summary manner before any Justice of the Peace, in the mode prescribed by Ordinance No. 10...
