According to an official report released for publication by the Superintendent of Imports and Exports the combined values of the Colony's imports and exports of merchandise as declared during the month of July, 1941, totafledt $119.9 millions (€7.3 millions) as com- pared with $119.0 millions (74 millions) in July, 1940,TM
in terms of local carrency the total visible trade of the Colony increased by 0.8 per cent. in July, 1941, as compared with July, 1940; and decreased by 1.4 per cent, in terms of sterling.
Imports of merchandise to July, May 1941, totalled $68.8 millons (£4.2} millions as compared with $50.0 (June millions (£3.5 millions) in July, 1940, and exports $51.2 millions July

Lowry at the Central Magistracy yesterday afternoon in the case in which Police Sergeant 0486, TONG KAU, 37, is charged with accepting $t as a bribe from Shek Wah, $2 from Six Lau-chu on July 16, and bribes of $2 from Fung Yung, Yu Sang, Yip Yan and Chan Wing on July 17.
