180 THOUSAND JAPANESE TROOPS TO BE STATIONED IN INDO-CHINA: TRUCULENT STATEMENT IN TOKYO: KEY POINTS IN THE HINTERLAND OF CHINA RAIDED BY ENEMY PLANES

THE JAPANESE PLAN TO STATION 180,000 TROOPS IN INDO-CHINA. MOST OF THEM WILL BE CONCENTRATED AT STRATEGIC POSITIONS IN WESTERN CAMBODIA ADJOINING THE BORDER TO THAI- LAND, ACCORDING TO A CORRESPONDENT WHO HAS JUST ARRIVED IN SAIGON, STATES A REUTER BUL- LETIN MESSAGE.

THE CORRESPONDENT ADDS THAT FOREIGN OBSERVERS BELJEVE THAT, AS SOON AS JAPAN FEELS SHE IS PREPARED FOR COUNTER-ATTACKS, JAPANESE TROOPS WILL ENTER THAILAND.

The most truculent statement yet made on the Far Eastern situation was uttered by a Japanese Naval spokes- man in Tokyo yesterday. He said:

"THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO FUSS OVER WHE 1 HER JAPAN SHOULD ENTER THE WAR. THE PRE- SENT IS ONLY THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM. THERE IS A LIMIT TO OUR PATIENCE AND WHEN THAT LIMIT IS REACHED THERE WILL BE AN EXPLOSIÓN, HOSTILE NATIONS WHO UNDERESTIMATE JAPAN'S STRENGTH ARE INVITING UNPLEASANT SURPRISES."
