In a service, inspiring for its simple ceremonial and impressive in its purpose, and attended by a full congrega- tion of foreign and Chinese residents of the Colony, the VERY REVEREND JOHN LEONARD WILSON, M.A., Dean of St. John's Cathedral and Archdeacon of Hongkong, was consecrated Bishop of Singapore in St. John's Cathedral yesterday afternoon.
The Right Rev. Norman S. Binsted, of the Philippine Islands, was the Presiding Bishop and was assisted by the Right Rev. Ronald O. Hall, Bishop of Hongkong, the Right Rev. Mok Shau-tsang, Bishop of Canton, and the Right Rev. C. T. Song, of Chengtu, Szechuan.

THE SERVICE
The service began with the sing- ing of the processional hymn No. 180 (Songs of Praise "Come, thou holy Paraclete," during which the choir clergy and Assistant Bishops proceeded to their allotted seats.
After the hymn, Bishop Binsted began the Communion Service, the congregation kneeling.
After the Nicene Creed, the Chaplain conducted Bishop Hall to the pulpit where he preached the sermon.
At the conclusion of the sermon, the Bishop-Designate was conduct- ed by the Presenting Presbyters (Rev. H. D. Rosenthal and Rev. Lee Kau-yon) to the Vestry where he put on his Rochet.
During his absence the Choir rendered the anthem, "Blessed be the God and Father."
Before the Blessing. the Prend- Ing Bishop first said two Collect and after the Blessing (pronounced by Bishop Wilson! was sung a Recessional hymn, "Tills of the North, rejoice."
