Why Japanese Ships In GOLF STARTING

The Pacific Are

Blacklisted By

in

Britain

Behind Britain's recent decision to blacklist Japanese ships lie deeper causes, the story of which dates back to the waves of sinkings of British ships in the Pacific last autumn and winter, it is learned from British circles.

The blacklist affects 11 Japanese tankers and 81 smal- ler vessels operating in the Pacific. The object of the measure" is to prevent Japanese ships from assisting or co- operating with German raiders in the Pacific as supply ships or giving wireless information regarding the move- ment of British ships.
