consider the 10th Section, under "leave of absence", in the Colonial Regulations — repealed, and to understand that one year is intended to be the utmost period for which leave can be given from Hong Kong.

I enclose the customary Certificate

of leave, shewing the necessary particulars concerning M. Ricketts'

departure.

The Members of the Commission

will of course be called

upon

to give

the necessary Bonds.
