A new high record for sales of

radio receiving sets in Cañada was set up last year. The increase over 1939 was 18 per cent, Produc- tion of radio receivers in Canada. increased by .over 40 per cent while imports declined. Similarly imports of radio receiving tubes decreased, but production in the Dominion rose by 63 per cent. "Eighty-eight per cent. of the re- ceiving sets sold in Canada last year were classified ga between short wave and standard broad- cast band. The number of radio receiving sets sold by producers in "Canada' last year totalled 438,978. The previous high record had been jestablished in 1939 at 370,668 -set3. As between 1939 and 1940 sales increased in three of the quarterly ¡perioda.
