Special Prayers Offered At

St. John's Cathedral

THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING WAS OBSERVED THROUGHOUT THE EMPIRE YESTERDAY. There were special prayers offered at the services in all the Colony's churches, asking for a deeper understanding of the shape of things that are, asking for strength in what trials are yet to come, and offering thanks for what has been granted.

The morning service at St. John's Cathedral was attended by the Hon. Mr. N. L. Smith and Mrs. Smith, His Excellency Major- General & E. Grasett, C.B., D.S.O., M.C., accompanied by Capt. R. E T. St. John, Hls Honour Sir Atholl MacGregor and Lady MacGregor, Commodore A. C. Collinson, R.N., and many other prominent people.
