BERLIN HAD ITS FIERCEST BATTERING YET BY THE ROYAL AIR FORCE, USING SEVERAL NEW AND MORE POWERFUL TYPES OF BOMBERS, ON WEDNES- DAY NIGHT. IT WAS THE 37TH RAID SINCE THE WAR BEGAN AND THE FIRST SINCE DECEMBER, STATES A LONDON MESSAGE, LARGE FIRES WERE SEEN BLAZ- ING EVERYWHERE. ·

HAMBURG and BREMEN also received a severe hammering from British air eraft, the former city having its 62nd visit and Bremen its 57th. The dock area at Hamburg was repeatedly hit by heavy bombs while Bremen was set well alight.
