Begging reference to my conversation with His Excellency Sir John Bowring regarding the terms on which this Corporation would keep an account for the Government, allowing interest on the balance, I beg to request that you will submit the following for His Excellency's consideration:
The Corporation will allow interest at the rate of 5% per annum on all sums deposited repayable on four month's notice.
