Movement Action Against Vichy: Sponsored By Notorious Pro-Nazis
Once again. despite all the interesting news of actual fighting, all eyes are turned on
France where a new National People's Party has been formed based on familiar Nazi aspirations, states a London message.
Indications are that events have moved swiftly to a climax in Vichy and that in the next few hours the world will hear from Marshal Petain himself what decision he intends to take:

M. Fontenoy, in announcing the new Party, said that it was no use to wait for Britain to be defeated by Ger.. mány for then it would be too late. Vichy was not col- laborating with Germany now. He described M. LAVAL, who it is believed will lead the Party, as a guarantor of collaboration", ..
.i
M. Fontenoy attacked those Ministers who had plotted against Laval, and made a direct attack on M. FLANDIN.
But all the news available from France shows that the French natiön has not in its heart accepted defeat.
The announcement from Berlin yesterday of the formation of a new political party in Paris head ed by M. Laval was commented upon in London. -
The new Party was meant to suggest that it has been set 037 to dispute the authority of Mar- shai Petain and his Ministers.
The commentator went on to state that the formation" of this party indicated that Herr Hitler intended to press strong "action against Vichy.

In KENYA there is heavy patrolling all along the frontier.
A despatch from EDWARD WARD, the B.B.C. observer with the British advance forces in thei Middle East, was quoted in a Lon- don message.
The observer stated that from a White hill he could see Derna. houses and villas made the place á paradise compared with the neighbouring desert. Rocks were shattered by shellfire and splinters lay about everywhere..
BOXES WITH ROCKS The first line of defence did not seem to have any obvious purpose. There were large wooden boxes fill- ed with rocks and these were placed 15 yards apart. Then came barbed wire and then a huge wall like a miniature Wall of China.
