ACES' PENNANT HOPES JEOPARDISED
BY SECOND
DEFEAT AT HANDS OF INDIAN S.C.
Excellent Defensive Play By Baby Panthers
Staging a complete reversal of farm after their defeat at the hands of the Cyclones, the Indian Softballers struck a lusty biow at Recreio's pennant hopes when they downed the Aces by 6 tallies to 4. In the nightcap of last Sunday's programme.
The Indian boys shocked Ace hurler Johnny Alvares and his in- felders with unexpected tip-and-run tactics in the first two stanzas during which they registered all six markers that constituted their winning count.
The Aces steadied during the latter stages of the game and pre- vented the Indians from adding to their "score by serving up some briliant. Belding feats that drew rounds of applause from the capa- city crowd present.
Brightest feat of the game was Zinho Gosano's unassisted double play in the sixth stanza when Tarzan Ismall reached second, with none away, to set the stage. Kassa Nazarin came to bat, took a toe hold and slashed a liner over the keystone that would have been good for a bag or two, ninety-nine times out of a hundred.
ONE-HANDED CATCH
of with the crack of the bat. Ziriho just managed a one-handed stab, pivoted and raced to second to nall Ismall who by then was well on his way to third.
gang
The Baby Panthers, as expected, put up an excellent defensive dis- play to take the Cardinals by 10 tallies to 7, committing but two errors to give themselves, the best. felding record of the day, includ- ing the Men's games.
