Extracts letter from Foreign Office on subject of proposed Act of Parliament for the purpose of checking abuses in Chinese Emigration.
June 11 Ordinance 4/55 - Registration of Colonial Vessels. Points out objections to the confirmation of the Act.
July 10 Regulations for Chinese Emigration - Encloses Memorandum containing opinion and suggestions of the Board as to the proposed Bill.
Nov 3 Commercial Treaty with Japan. Have suggested to Foreign Office, the propriety of furnishing Sir John Bowring with a copy.
30 Ordinance 4/55 - Registration of Colonial Vessels may be left to its operation.
