Hearing that the Post of Harbor Master of Hongkong may shortly become vacant, I have the honor to apply for the appointment in the event of such being the case.
In making this application I beg most respectfully to state the following grounds on which I rest my claims to the appointment :-
Testimonials from the local authorities, and from Sir George Bonham the late Governor of; the Office I seek. Upwards of eleven years Continuous Service in the Department during which service I have upon two occasions fulfilled the duties of Harbor Master extending over a period of Seven years.
