Declaring that he had been made the scapegoat of the transaction, GUILHERME D'ARAUJO GUIMARAES, alias Wil- liam Guimaraes, allas William Williams. allas. Ah Kam, gave evidence in his own defence at the Criminal Sessions yesterday. when he was arraigned before Mr. Justice E. IL Williams on two counts of conspiracy to cheat and obtaining $13.200 by false pretences.
