On the night of Aug. 27-28 there will be a black-out exercise which will automatically commence at 6.45 P.
All external lighting on board vessels, with the exception of navi- gation and riding lights is prohi bited and all internal lights must either be extinguished or obscured so that no light is visible either from above of trom any other direction.
The Port will be closed to all in- ward and outward shipping from sunset to sunrise on Aug, 28,
The following lights in the Hong- kong area will be extinguished on the black-out night:-
Waglan Island, Tathong Point, Cape Collinson, South Lyemun, North Lyemun, Channel Rocks, Cust Rock, North Fairway Buoy, Central Fairway Buoy, South Fair- way Buoy, Green Island. Cheung Chau Island Passage.
Thirty minutes after sunset, 7 15 p.m.. navigation and riding lights must be extinguished, and all
movements of shipping and other
craft must cease.
N.B. Should any vessels, etc. bei under way at this hour, they should proceed with navigation lights alight to the nearest safe anchor- age or jetty, and after either an- choring or securing, navigation and riding lights must be extinguished.
The termination of the exercise will be indicated by the sounding of the "Raiders Passed" signal, when normal lighting and naviku. tion may be resumed within the Port Limits.
