HEE WONG TERRACE TRAGEDY IS DESCRIBED BY CROWN

Scenes reminiscent of the famous Cheng Kwok-yau case in 1932 were enacted at the Central Magistracy yes- terday afternoon when a crowd, estimated at more than 2,000, attempted to push through a cordon of 50 police in a rush for seats when committal proceedings were begun, before Mr. T. J. Houston, of the case in which KWAN LAI- CHUN, 31, tin tong wife of a Chinese small businessman, is accused of the murder of LAM LING-KWAI, 42, concu- bine, at No. 33 Hee Wong Terrace, second floor, West Point, on May 13.

Accused, who was clad in a Chinese long gown of pur- ple and white sunflower pattern, sat through the hearing attentively, rising every now and then to ask questions..
