THE SECOND DAY OF THE HONGKONG JOCKEY CLUB'S WHITSUN MEETING opened yesterday in de- lightful weather, but after there were a few showers. The rain; however, affected neither the spoft nor the going and some very good times were run.
Yet another record was broken "when" Eve of Harvest won the Whitsun Plate in 2 mins. 19 2/5 secs. Improving on the previous mile-and-a-quarter record held by Burford by 4/5 secs.
Burford's best time for the distance was 2 mins,
20 1/5 secs.
