FROM ROZA BROS Suver prices dropped 1/8 yes- terday for both deliveries, the quotation being 20.7/8 for Ready and 20.13/18 for Forward. Silver advices reported a small business done. The market was steady American Silver was quoted at 34.3/4 for Spot.
The London-New York cross- rate was quoted at 402.1/2. New York/London was quoted a 332. 3/4.

NEW YORK, COTTON: Foreign hedging and liquidation was' well taken. The tone improved in sympathy, with other markets due to fears of a further extension of war. The possibility of a higher loan basis is a stimulating factor.
NEW YORK RUBBER: Fears of an invasion to Holland were re- flected in higher rubber prices. Factories were apparent good buyers of physicals and futures. The e.l.f. position is tight.
CHICAGO WHEAT: Further European tension is causing heavy short-covering. There are complaints of rain in the South-West which are lowering the quality. According to Broomhall, the 1940 wheat crop in Europe is expected to be below normal.
