The funeral of the late Mrs. Lena Johnsford Churn, wife of Mr. S. M. Churn, managing director of the Union Trading Co., Ltd. and chairman of the Board of Directors of the China Provident Loan and Mortgage Co., Ltd., took place yesterday at the Colonial Ceme- tery.

The Rt. Rev. Ronald Hall. Bishop of Hongkong, conducted the last rites at the graveside.

Pleading guilty to having had in his possession a letter that he Intended to export from the Colony other than by post, which constitutes an offence against the Defence Regulations. a Chinese actor, Poon Kam-shing, 32, was fined $25 by Mr. E. Himsworth at Kowloon Court yesterday,
Poon stated that the letters he had on his person were written by friends recommending him for an engagement in Haiphong to which port he was travelling. He was arrested aboard ship Det, Bergt. Michle prosecuted.
