CHOLERA SEASON

APPROACHING

Campaign Starts May 1: Inoculation Urged

The Medical Authorities advises that the cholera season is now approaching.

IT WILL BE REMEMBERED. THẤT THERE WAS A SERIOUS OUTBREAK IN 1937 IN WHICH 776 OUT 1,401 CASES OF THE DISEASE DIED.

In 1938, although several hundred thousand refugees were added to the normal population there were only 547 cases with 363 deaths. The Authorities attribute this satisfactory result very largely to the ‚co-operative altitude of the general public in the anti-cholern cam--

paign.

A wireless message was the cholern season, a large num ber of cases were actually "dis- covered to have been imported from neighbouring territories and the debilitating effects of higher prices for foodsiums and higher rentals were already making themselves felt.

This year the Authorities aim at securing a greater degree of im- munity for the community from this essentially preventable disease;

This can only be achieved everyone plays his part in the anti- cholera campaign.
