Silver advices repárt- ed Bears as having covered to a small extent... A small business was done, the market was quiet. American Silver was quoted at 34.3/4 for. Spot.
The London/New York „rate was quoted at 402 1/2. New York/London was quoted at 355. 8/4.

The market was quiet.. NEW YORK COTTON:" Narrow and rather reactionary on the prevailing European monetary uncertainties and increasing reports that Britain may have to shift so me of her buying" from the United States to Brazil it foreign exchange shortage forces her to do so. Trade fixations appeared on the scale down but purchases were in- suficient to absorb offerings which mostly originated abroad. The stiffened tone of the Textile market falled to be impressive.
NEW YORK RUBBER"; There was some buying by manufac~ turers on optimistic estimates regarding automobile sales. Ship- ment offerings were light and at higher prices,
CHICAGO WHEAT: Prices advanced, somewhat, higher on firm foreign cables and on reports of substantial sales of Canadian wheat for the account of Great Britain. However, there was only a moderate trade, all upturns bringing increased hedge-selling and scattered realizing.
Some buying was based on unfavourable mots- ture reports from a wide area.
