GENERAL COMMODITIES: Washington reports that the Ad- ministration is apparently adhering to the subsidy plan Inspite of some opposition should discourage short-selling in Wheat and Cotton. The latest Finnish peace news and the weakness in Sterling are keeping commodity buyers hesitant. Positions are generally very modest. We doubt the lasting effect of the Finnish peace news tipon developments commodity prices and believe that any should result in rapid advancés.
