It was a crime so serious that the extremists in the Diet, egged on by the mil- itary, demanded not only his expulsion, but the expulsion and punishment ** the Speaker who failed to stop him in time, the Secretary who entered his speech in the records, and a number of other legislators who at dif- ferent times had cast asper- sions on the good name of the armed forces.
