THE PLAY Berry opened the Services ac- count with a fine run to cut through the Club defence for Faul to add the goal points. Shortly afterwards Bowden indulged in some very trick running to score near the posts. Fani again con- verted.
In the second half Paul in- creased the Services lead when he scored a penalty goal. Not soon afterwards, Bidwell for the Club managed to reduce the lead when he scored a fine penalty dropped- goal.
In the closing minutes of the game, the Services applied nres- gure and, from a scrum, Gallagher picked up the ball to go through the Club defence for another try which Paul converted.

both magnificently covered invaluable ground by their speed and ability to snap up every opportunity that came, their way. Of the two, Day was the more prominent he was more consistent and proved himself a source of danger to the opposing side every time he had possession of the bail.
In the pack, the Volunteers were best served by Macrae, Walzen, Redman and Kennedy who all played hard and tackled well.
Taylor, for the Police, played s steady game at back, whilst Fay and Wilson were prominent in the back division. Their forwards also. managed to hold their own against the Volunteers-tackling well and giving a good display in the loose, THE TEAMS Police-Taylor Jackson, Fay, Wilson and Reynolds: Wall and Wheeler, Cullinan, Morrison: Searle, Dempsey, Innes, Wright- Nooth, Riddell and Rose.
