ROTTERDAM, Feb. 13 (Reuter)-The Holland-America liner Burgerdijk (6,853 tons) was torpedoed by a German U-boat, according to a cable received by the owners from the captain of a Dutch steamer.
The Holland-America line have informed the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the torpedoing of Bur- gerdijk. The pretext on which the ship was torpedoed is not clear.
