SHANGHAI, Jan. 23 (Reuter by, Mall)-Following the recommen- dation to mercy by the jury of Private David Eckford, of the Sea- forth Highlanders, who was re- cently found guilty of murder and sentenced to death in the British Supreme Court, the judicial re- port of the case, together with the Jury's recommendation. have been forwarded to the British Ambas- sador, Sir Archibald Clark Kerr.

The Ambassador' will nye to 'make the final decision as to whe- ther the Jury'a recommendation should be adopted or Private Eck- ford be hanged.

He will be guided in his deci- sion by the report and observa- tions of the Judge, Sir Allan Mos- sop, and counsel, and his decision will be Anal.
