"WIZARD OF OZ" BREAKS RECORDS IN SHANGHAI

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Hong- kong Office his Just received word from Shanghai that the pro- duction entitled "Wizard of Oz" ran for 16 days at the Roxy Thea- tre, Shanghai, and grossed $55,000, which is an all-time record for the exhibition of a first-run foreign picture in Shangbal.

*1

The picture finished very strong- ly and could easily have, run for another 4 days, but, due, to the tremendous advance, booking on the production entitled "The ̈ Wo- men," scheduled to follow "Wizard Of Oz," it was considered inadvis-. able to defer any further the exhibition of "The Women," though "Wizard Of Oz" will be taken back to Shanghai shortly for a repeat engagement at the Rory Theatre..

"Wizard Of Oz" has already been scheduled to open at the Queen's Theatre on Wednesday, Feb, 14, and on Feb. 16, it will open at the Alhambra Theatre, for a simultaneous engagement.
