I have laid before the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury your letter of the 15th inst., enclosing an Extract from a Despatch from the Lieutenant Governor of Hong Kong together with a letter from the Treasurer General of that Colony, urging the appointment of an Inspector of Public Works at a salary of £800 per annum.
