MACAO PROHIBITED
The Government Gazette reveals that large quantities of merchan- dise or enemy origin. ware taken from Hongkong to Macao before the outbreak of war in order to escape liquidation under the Allen Enemies (Winding Up) Ordi- nance.
In order to thwart any attempta, to reimport such merchandise into *Hongkong, the Governor Has prohibited the importation, into the Colony from Macao of any of the following merchandise:
Aniline dyes and dyes of every other description and paint of every other description.

Drugs, medicines and chemicals of every .description. Toilet requisites, cloth, glass and con- structional steel bars, Photographle apparatus and equipment, medical and surgical apparatus and sruments of every description, Electrical apparatus and equip- ment. Machinery of every descrip- tion, and clocks, watches and Jewellery of every description,
This prohibition does not apply. in the case of a camera brought into Hongkong from Macao by any- body who has, after September 3, 1939, taken such camera from Hongkong to Macao for his per- sonal use and can procure. the certificate, or can otherwise satisfy the Superintenden; of Imports and Exports that such a camera had been taken by him to Macao.
