BY SWALLOWING ALLEGED BY PROSECUTION AT MAGISTRACY

Lawyer As Complainant: Flour Merchant Charged

WHAT IS BELIEVED TO BE THE FIRST CASE OF ITS NATURE' IN THE COLONY came before Mr. T. J. Houston at the Central Court yesterday afternoon when Lo On-kwok, a flour merchant, was charg- ed with destroying a valuable security, namely, a receipt (entrusted to Mr. A. S. K. Lau, solicitar) for 50 bags at Aour, for a fraudulent pur- pose, and, alternatively, with stealing the document.

By arrangement, both Mr. Khaw and the defendant met in Mr. Lau's office on December 22,

Mr. Strellett then proceeded to describe how the various persons were seated and explained that the four documents were held together by an ordinary paper clip with the goods receipt on top, but also in the clip.
