THE SEASON OF ADVENT: THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION: A
SPIRITUAL A.R.P.
The season of Advant, which is the period of preparation for Christmas and the beghaning of the Church's year, commences The first Sunday is always the one which is nearest tonaorrow. to the feast of St. Andrew, Nov. 34.
In this way there are always four Sundays before Christmas Day. This year as Christmas Day falls on a Monday, the fourth "week" of Advent conshis only of one day. The prevailing note of the liturgy during these weeks is one of preparation for Christ's coming: as Redeemer, as it is commemorated at Christ- mas, and as Judge, at the end of the world..
