ARMY DEFEAT POLICE SCRAPPY RUGGER GAME
Losers' Passing Very Poor: Cullinan Hunt
Aq Army team met the Police in a rugger match yesterday. The game was in the nature of a workout for the Custodians - of the Law preparatory to their encounter with the Hongkong Football Club this afternoon.
The team folded by the Army included only a sprinkling of their regular first XV, but they nevertheless defeated the police- men by 12 points (four tries) to three (one try).
The game was scrappy, but Wall | showed up as an exceedingly use- fu] back. He might even be con- sidered the best for that position In the Colony from the form be revealed yesterday. Jenner play- ed well at scrum-half, while Tay- lor was wasted on the wing through lack of feeding, the Po- lice passing being very poor in- deed.
There were some changes in the
Police Xv in the second half when Jenner took Riddell's place and Foley replaced Jenner,
Cullinan was injured during a scrum in the second half and the Police played a man short "from then.
