Silver prices dropped yesterday to the extent of 5/8 for Ready and 3/8 for Forward, the quota. tices being 13.7/18 and 18.5/16 respectively. Silver advices re- ported India and Speculators as having sold. The market was steady. Later the market Armed up with buyers at 1/4 over the
quoted rate. American silver was quoted at 35.1/2 for Spot.
The London-New York rate was quoted at 423. York/London was unquoted.

The market opened higher on covering and speculatora buying and held the advance throughout the day on moderate Trade and foreign demand. Towards the close, there was a further recovery on a statement by Mr. Jesse Jones, Chairman of the RFC to the effect that fund would be available for the Enancing of exports in the event of an outbreak of war in Europe.
NEW YORK RUBBER
Unfavourable cable from abroad caused a moderate decline in prices. Throughout, the day. there was a faft amount of nervous Liquidation and short-selling, whil buying interest was lack.
CHICAGO WHEAT
Less hopeful political advices and the announcement that France was prohibiting-exports caused prices to open upwards and the mar- ket further advanced on Liverpool buying and the mess of Winnipeg. together with reports of additional large purchases of Argentine wheat by European countries.
