A fairly large crowd turned out at Caroline Hill last Sunday to see the South China - Recreio replay of a previous match which had resulted in favour of Recreio after a protest had been lodged against ar- bitrary action by the plate umpire.

It is idle to speculate what' the actual positioning of the players will be (I'm not even sure that all six will have ‘a. chance of playing in the three matches against Shanghai). That of course will depend on the form displayed by the players in the practice games held in Shanghai.. But ‚I can foresee that Bradbury will have a difficult time: making up his three teams, as of the six mes to choose from, no less than five are used to play- ing either as number three or skip.
