Tientsin Prisoners' Case Will Be Taken To Privy Council If Necessary

SHANGHAI, AUGUST 14 (REUTER)-DRAMATIC DEVELOPMENTS ARE EXPECTED if Mr. P. Grant Jones. Assistant Judge of His Majesty's Supreme Court for China, refuses to grant the application for the writ of habeas corpus in connexión with the four Chinese prisoners at Tientsin.

Judge Grant Jones is expected to give his decision some time to-morrow, or on Wednesday.

Reuter learns that fresh instructions have been received by the legal firm of Ellis & Hays, under which, if the application is refused, an immediate appeal will be lodged and, if necessary, the case will be carried to the Privy Council in London.

Mr. H. A: Reeks and Mr. J. R. Jones, barristers-at-law, of the firm of Messrs. Ellis & Hays, are now awaiting the Judge's decision.
