The strength of the market was due in the main to the firmness In spot market and to a considerable increase in Bombay straddle operations. Weather conditions were less favourable. There was a moderate amount of trade and speculative buying. The whole situa- tion as it now shapes up, particularly from a legislative point of view, should give an appearance of being much stronger than it was.
