11th ult.
I am to
humbly inform
the House of Assembly
that in consequence of recent changes
in the Turks Islands no
Agent is now acting
under
the Government,
and that his servant
controlled, and
has been dismissed, so that the
charge of shifting cargo has
devolved
on Mr. Gibbs by
whom the business is
now
conducted, under the control
of the local Governor of the Islands.
But the disreputable trade
in question forms only one branch
of the Emigration proceedings there,
and the whole of this trade
is
in a state, which, so
far from being
under proper Contract
