Sir,
With reference to the Correspondence which has passed between this Office and the Colonial department respecting the emigration of Chinese Coolies to Peru, I am directed by the Earl of Clarendon to transmit to you, for the information of the Secretary of his Government, a copy of a despatch from Her Majesty's Consul at Callao, together with a tabular statement of the number of Chinese shipped to Peru from the year 1849 to 1854, inclusive.
