Behind the scenes of this airline service between Hongkong and Kunming is Mr. Hoefft, overhaul- ing, repairing. rebuilding and, assembling the "Junker" planes of the company. Very few accl- dents tell the tale of his capabi lities and thoroughness.

This engineer's workshop occu- ples a large section of the Kal Tak hanger. Here 35 employess under the classifications of pain- ters, carpenters, radio engineers, body-construction engineers, store. keepers and three apprentices are. supervised by Mr. Hoefft,
