It is interesting to note as regards Malaya that although a domestic cut în production of 21 per cent, as a deduction from the IRR.C. percentage quota, is in operation, this has not succeeded in reducing last year's carryover of over 11.000 tons which together with excess shipments during Jan./May this year now amounts to about 14,000 tons. With respect to the D.EL for the first five months of the year, estates have under-ship- ped to the extent. of about 2,500 tons while native producers have over-shipped about 6,000 tons.
