SHARE MARKET

REVIEW

BY C. A. L. RICKETT Secretary, H.K, Sharebrokers' Association

Hongkong, May, 26. "Market conditions continues very quiet during the week. In spite of increased enquiry there has been no improvement in the volume of business recorded for the week: Buyers have been reluctant to raise their bids put prices show a tendency towards improvement as holders of shares appear ob- durate in their opinion, that better prices will be obtained by waiting. The result has been a dull market and difcult trading conditions. The undertone of the market at the close of business is 'steady, with buyers mone in evidence.

HF. Bank shares changed hands from $1365 to $1400' with further enquiries at $1390. Lands were wanted at $35) with sales report- ed at this figure. H.K. Docka had buyers at $18, Hotels at $5.70, Star Ferries $861 and Humphreys at $8. Electrics were wanted at $554 with shares offering at $56. China Lights came in for enquiry at $8.60 for the old shares and $54 for the Providenta were wanted at $4.75 with males reported at $4.88. Gold mining stocks have also been and the volume of business disappointingly small. Prices have Cuctuated within narrow limits and the trend of the market is uncertain. The San Mauricio Mm- ing Co., has announced an interim dividend of 3 ctvs., payable June
