In the present it may be sufficient to draw attention to the subject, and should it be thought advisable to adopt measures for the establishment of a Light House on the Spot indicated, I shall be happy to collect and forward any accessible information.
I should add, however, that I could not recommend the imposition of duties on entering Hong Kong, for the establishment or maintenance of this Light House, as it is of the last importance to preserve intact the strict freedom of this prosperous port.
